Community Ambassadors are young people who play an active role by volunteering within their community, delivering Youth Social Action Projects funded by Clarion Futures.
Youth social action involves young people taking part in activities that create a positive impact on their environment or others. These activities can be formal or informal and take place in various settings, whether online, in clubs, or as part of structured programs.
Some examples of youth social action include:
- Volunteering
- Fundraising
- Campaigning
- Supporting peers
- Health and social care
- Environmental volunteering
- Advocating for Zero Plastic Waste
Youth social action helps young people feel more connected to their community, allowing them to contribute to local decision-making. It also empowers them to use their voice and lived experience to tackle the issues that matter most to them.
Our Community Ambassadors meet every Tuesday at 5pm and are currently hosting a bi-weekly podcast supported by https://www.soundyard.org/ covering topics such as homelessness, ASD and neurodiversity awareness, substance misuse, and much more. They also lead two community-based projects throughout the year.
