LGBTQ+ Youth Group Returns to Sprowston for 2025

Starting January 8, 2025, Sprowston will continue to host an exciting initiative aimed at supporting LGBTQ+ young people. The Sprowston BYTS Youth Group, meeting every other Wednesday from 6-8 pm, is open to young people aged 13-18 who identify as LGBTQ+ or are questioning their sexuality or gender identity.

The group offers a safe and inclusive space for young people to connect, express themselves, and build a supportive community. Each session is activity-led, with the programming co-produced by the young people themselves. This collaborative approach ensures that the activities reflect the interests, needs, and creativity of the participants.

“Creating a space like this is so important,” said a spokesperson for the group. “It’s not just about providing support but also celebrating individuality and fostering empowerment among young people.”

From art workshops to team-building games and discussions, the activities aim to engage participants while addressing key themes such as identity, confidence, and mental well-being. The group is designed to be a haven where young people can feel accepted and understood, especially those who may feel isolated in other areas of their lives.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to reach out for more information or to learn how to support their children in attending. Those interested can contact the group by emailing info@lgbtqproject.org.uk.

Sprowston BYTS Youth Group is more than just a club; it’s a lifeline for many young people, offering friendship, fun, and a space to explore their authentic selves. As the community comes together to celebrate its launch, the hope is that this initiative will inspire similar groups in other areas.

Join the Sprowston BYTS Youth Group and be part of something special—building a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
